The extreme weather events which are the evidence of climate change are all about water and the lack of water: storms, floods, drought, extreme heat, and wild fires. Extreme water events.

This RegenLife Minute points out that if the soil is not healthy, it doesn’t hold water.  So if a storm comes, the water will run off, and this will result in a drought. The dry land makes the area more prone to fires.

All across the world industrial agriculture has killed the soil. If we want to reduce fires and global warming, we must help nature rebuild healthy water-retaining soil.

I feel a sense of urgency about this film because it helps dispel the helplessness that many people feel about the climate crisis. By looking at the big picture, the film shows that the rise in carbon emissions in the atmosphere is just one small part of the problem, in many ways it is a symptom, not a cause. This is good news, because it reveals a host of solutions. In the film I interview farmers, activists, and scientists who are solving the climate crisis by regenerating the forests, fields, wetlands, and oceans and implementing ecological approaches to agriculture.
