I’m delighted that we now have a fan club in the Republic of Korea. The Freaky Fox Crew (FFC) is a network of environmental communities that organize programs to develop environmental sensitivity, empathy and creativity. After seeing the film in June at Blue Asia, Kim Sanghee, one of FFC’s members, got excited about Regenerating Life and was inspired to host a screening on July 16 at the Gomson Repair Shop in Seoul. They report that the repair shop is a fantastic place where people can fix broken electronics, repair umbrellas, and replace iPhone batteries themselves.
The Freaky Fox Crew screening inspired some of the members to send us their responses to the screening, which I’m sharing below.
Sanghee had another screening of Regenerating Life nr September 8th at 7pm at Cafe PAPER in Paju, South Korea.

A few Freaky Fox Crew’s responses to Regenerating Life:
Merona: A movie screening you want to see with our members! It’s “Regenerating Life,” the perfect movie for hot and humid summer night. You think the main cause of the climate crisis is carbon emissions and fossil fuels.
In “Regenerating Life”, it goes beyond simple thinking and deals with a wider variety of ways humans have caused the climate crisis and even suggests solutions.
Melona: I was very impressed when I saw a huge movie called “REGENERATING LIFE.”
I can’t be the only one who knows such a good movie! I wanted to watch it with all of our members.
The movie ‘REGENERATING LIFE’ is about how to stop the rise in the average temperature of the earth, what to eat, and how to live happily.
A story that brings life back to earth and brings me back to life, aren’t you curious? Let’s watch a movie and talk while having a beer to cool off the hot summer night.
Sanghee: OMG… There have been a lot of fragmentary stories even when I read environmental books and even when I look at environmental documentaries, so what can we do, not the government and companies? Here’s a movie that relieves that frustration.
It feels like I’ve completed a puzzle by collecting pieces of books and documentaries?!!!
Here’s the movie that made me hit a standing ovation for the first time. (Actually only in my mind…)
I still can’t get rid of that emotion…
Anyone else find something weird? What about 75% of disappeared forests and how did we end up focusing only on carbon? When you cut down trees and plow the ground to kill microorganisms and use chemical fertilizers to farm on dead land, the land dies, the surface hardens with chemicals, which prevents it from penetrating water and reduces its ability to store water, which starts desertification. Thank you Sukhyun for letting me watch this movie.
I am overwhelmingly grateful to ‘Green Asia’ and ‘Younger Brothers’ for discovering, contacting, translating, and even screening such a gem-like movie.
Oh, I almost forgot! I would like to send a big bow to the director who made such a great movie of all time!
Ananda: It was a movie that allowed us to look at the world from various perspectives, I think it is time to have environmental consciousness and environmental literacy so that I can look at the current phenomenon as it is and head in a better direction little by little. Muhae: The most memorable word in the movie is “You need to change the lens that sees beauty”. Before it became a wasteland, a movie that many people must watch!
